How does the Circumplex and the different clusters play out around the world?

The best way to compare is to use an ideal circumplex; whether through the LSI measuring ideal personal behaviours, leaders’ impact or ideal culture within an organisation.

Every country will score the constructive styles high – there is not a culture in the world, that doesn’t reinforce constructive attributes such as “doing well” (Achievement), “learning and growing” (Self-actualising), “helping and being considerate of others” (Humanistic Encouraging) and “Being approachable and easy to get along with” (Affiliative).

What differences you will find are in the passive/defensive or aggressive/defensive clusters, due to societal norms within different countries; such as the different spikes in shown in the defensive clusters below for Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

Janet L. Szumal, Ph.D researched the appropriateness of leaders and managers using the Impact tools in organisations in different countries, including countries with societal values, economies, and political environments to demonstrate the relevance and importance of using the tools across different countries; Read Dr. Szumal’s research in the White Paper “The Impact of Leaders and Managers Across and Within Different Countries”…
