Yarra Valley Water's Cultural Journey………

YVW

Yarra Valley Water has a proud history of pursuing a long-term culture change program to deliver excellence.

We embarked on our cultural journey back in 2001 and our ongoing commitment has transformed our strategy and vision as well as our approach to leadership and employee experience.

As one of Australia’s largest water utilities, providing vital water and sanitation services to 2 million people daily – more than 30 per cent of Victorians – this focus has created an engaged and inclusive workforce in tune with customers.

It allows us to deliver on our purpose to provide exemplary services that contribute to the health and wellbeing of current and future generations.

At the core of our cultural journey has been the ability to measure our culture through the tools provided by Human Synergistics. This ability to measure and map our cultural gaps has been vital in creating lasting change and allowing for the implementation of immediate initiatives.

Our cultural journey is represented by the series of Organisational Culture Inventory (OCI) circumplex over the years:
