International Women's Day | Celebrating Women in Leadership

Published on 20 Feb 2020

Join us as we celebrate International Women's Day! This global day recognises the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, with a mission to champion women of all backgrounds who dare to innovate, lead, and uplift others towards a more equal and inclusive workplace. At Human Synergistics, our mission is to “Change the World – One Organisation at a Time™” through developing effective leaders, innovative teams and positive workplace cultures, but we can’t do that without the help of our incredible network.

This year, we are taking the opportunity of International Women’s Day to celebrate women in leadership and those that strive for constructive leadership and cultures.

Join us Friday 6th March for a special breakfast event featuring some of the incredible leaders in our network sharing their own personal journeys.

This is an inclusive event. We encourage you to bring your daughters and sons (at no charge), our speakers will share some of the lessons they have learnt and we all know you can never start learning too early! Purchase tickets to this event through Eventbrite.

All profits from this event will be donated to Dress For Success, a charity based in NSW improving employability of women through providing professional clothing, support networks and career development tools to help women achieve self-sufficiency.

CorinneCorinne Canter - Head of Consulting, Human Synergistics

Jumping into employment as soon as she was legally able, Corinne has done everything from ring cash registers in the retail sector, to bluffing her way with a black thumb into a job at a florist; through to  creating  questionable culinary art with prawn cocktails, deep fried fish and fries in the hot steaming kitchens of the ‘Oyster Bar” at a local shopping centre!

All these jobs were instrumental in supporting Corinne while she completed studies majoring in special education and developmental psychology which would eventually lead to her first career working with adults with severe and profound intellectual disabilities and secondary psychiatric disabilities. These early formative years, while tough planted the seed for the innovation, pragmatism and resourcefulness her clients and colleagues have come to associate with Corinne. These early days taught her how to think in a way that generated possibilities when there didn’t seem to be any and taught her how to learn and pivot from failed experiments.

Since those formative early career years, Corinne has held a number of senior leadership roles in operations, sales, employee relations and organisational development in the telecommunications, banking and finance industries. Her passion is helping to unlock growth, help people and businesses open to new possibilities.

She is a published author and has had numerous articles published in Australian Financial Review and Women’s Agenda.
