We always get a bunch of questions around culture and individual thinking, with one of them being around having to think or behave a certain way in different industries or organisations. David Byrum and Dominic Gourley debunk the myth of having different cultures within different industries, in this week’s Culture Bites episode.

Dr Robert A. Cooke has, over time, identified that culture is not ‘industry specific’. No one industry can claim to be more Constructive or more Defensive than any other. Although he found that cultures do not differ between industries, they certainly do differ within industries.

Ideal Culture, no matter what industry will always be constructive. High employee engagement, great customer service, a real emphasis on quality not quantity, employees talking about being supported, challenged and stretched; these are all indicators of a high performing culture, and ideal constructive behaviours all industries would want to have.
